Florence Chik-Lau is a multidisciplinary artist who creates animal sculptures and lyrical, semi-abstract seascapes and landscapes.
After graduating from the Ontario College of Art, Florence worked as a graphic designer in Toronto. Following her relocation to beautiful Prince Edward County with her family, she switched her artistic medium to clay and embarked on an award winning career as a ceramic sculptor of animals. More recently, she rediscovered her long neglected passion for painting.
Florence has participated in many juried art shows as a sculptor and as a painter. These include the McMichael Autumn Art Sale, the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, Ontario Clay and Glass's Fireworks show, and the Art in the County. Her panda sculptures Er Shun and Da Mao were included in the Animal Stories show at the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art. Her work is in many private collections in
Canada, United States, Europe and Australia.
